Remote Accounting Clerk

South Carolina Habitat is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the financial health of our organization, which is dedicated to building affordable housing and improving communities across South Carolina. As an Accounting Clerk, your primary responsibilities will include processing invoices, managing accounts payable and receivable, and assisting with month-end close processes. You will be working closely with various departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and help facilitate the smooth operation of our accounting department. Responsibilities

• Process and record accounts payable and receivable transactions
• Prepare and maintain financial reports and records
• Assist with monthly and annual financial closings
• Coordinate with vendors and clients for payment inquiries
• Manage petty cash and ensure accurate recording
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities
• Support internal and external audits as required

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; an associate’s degree in accounting or finance is preferred
• Proven experience as an accounting clerk or similar role
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
